It will help if you first read the Historical Battle page, to get an understanding of how the original 1863 battle occurred.  And actually there were two large battles, one on October 11, 1863 and the second on November 4, 1863, plus a number of small skirmishes.

First Battle

The reenactment scenario for the first day will somewhat approximate the action of the 10/11/63 battle.

Union patrol is attacked.
